Try Scuba Beach Entry
Mergulho experimental (Try Scuba/Basic Diver)
Service Description
Your first encounter with the marine world—one of the most incredible experiences of your life. You will be guided by an SSI professional for at least 20 minutes at a depth of 5 to 12 meters. You’ll receive a brief orientation covering the equipment you’ll use, the underwater skills you’ll practice (clearing a partially flooded mask, regulator recovery, and buoyancy control), and some of the risks associated with recreational diving. Once you understand the gear and the skills, we’ll gear up and enter the water. We’ll breathe through the regulator at the surface with our faces in the water until you’re comfortable, then descend to begin the introductory dive. When you’re at ease, I’ll ask you to repeat the skills I demonstrate: clearing the mask (why is this important? for a stress-free dive; water in the mask bothers many people and happens often, so we’ll learn how to clear it); regulator recovery (why learn this? sometimes the regulator might fall out of your mouth—maybe because you saw a turtle and were amazed, or another diver bumped your regulator with their fin—so we’ll learn how to retrieve it and continue the dive calmly); and buoyancy control (why learn this? this is the trickiest part of diving—finding the right buoyancy so you don't drag along the bottom, where you could get hurt or damage marine life, or float up to the surface, where you could also get injured...). Diving rule number one: Never hold your breath! If the regulator is in your mouth, breathe normally. Many people fear running out of air and end up not exhaling; then, when they try to breathe in, there’s no room for fresh air, and they feel like they’re suffocating... just breathe normally and stay calm!
